Sister!

Anyone who knows me knows that those females who are near and dear to me I affectionately call them "Sistah". Here is a picture of my sister and me with my mom and a picture of my mom and her sister, Ann. My mom is the youngest of 10 children. There were 9 girls and a brother right in the middle. My aunts were always involved in our lives. They spent holidays and special occasions with us. They showed us how special and important a sister relationship really is. They have always been there for each other. Luckily I was blessed with a sister myself. My sister is my best friend. I do not know what I would do without her. She has been there for me in both the good times and bad times. Her daughter Caroline and Analynn hopefully will share a sisterhood that we have shared. So if I call you "Sistah" you know you mean a lot to me.

We miss Caroline!!!!

This is a picture of my mom's three granddaughters. Caroline is the blonde and the oldest of the three. Analynn falls in the middle and Phoebe is the youngest. Caroline is my biggest fan. Anyone says anything bad about "her Nan" and Caroline takes up for me. When my sister was in preterm labor Caroline was with me every Wednesday. Since the storm they now live in Baton Rouge and we do not see them as much. We are hoping to see them next weekend. WE MISS CAROLINE! WE LOVE CAROLINE!

Just what I wanted

Yesterday we went on the Honey Island Swamp tour. I let both of the kids get a souvenir. This bug keeper is what Analynn picked out. In the evening we went to Family night at school. The kids caught this roach and decided to keep the in the keeper. Rob told Analynn she needed to let the roach go because she was not bringing it in the house. She said "I am not letting him go, it is the pet I always wanted." We are definitely pet retarded.

Awards Day

Today was Awards Day and the last full day of school for Analynn. We were very proud of her this year. She got Alpha Honor Roll, Christian Service award, Honor Roll medal and Participant in Presidential Physical Fitness award (not sure about this last one). After school we went to sign up for the Library Summer Reading Program. Both of the kids were excited to get some books to start reading.

Proud to be an AMERICAN

Today Analynn was able to wear red, white and blue to school instead of her uniform. I asked her on the way to school if she knew what today was? She said it was Memorial Day and today was the day we prayed for the soldiers who died in the war. I told her Uncle Freddie had been in WWII. Analynn says "I did not know Uncle Freddie was a movie star. I saw him in the war on TV." Analynn has been watching a little too much History channel with her dad. I told Uncle Freddie what she said and he enjoyed it and started laughing. Next time he sees Analynn he is going to tell her about WWII.

Let's Play Ball

Yesterday we spent some of the afternoon at the ball park. Analynn is starting to bat and field the ball much better. Timothy has a harder time watching every game. He wants to play so bad. Analynn is enjoying playing but does not like the heat. She does not like me yelling at her to "hustle onto the field" or "get ready".

I want to be a Cougar

This is a picture of Timothy's 1st day of school at St. Timothy. Look how little he is. This was 2 years ago. Time has really flown by. Today was Timothy's last day at St. Timothy. Before he left for school this morning he told Analynn at 1 o'clock he would be a Cougar because he was going to MQP. His sister however informed him that he must first attend at least one day of classes to be called a Cougar. I am going to have 2 school aged kids next school year.

Teacher Appendix Week

This morning Analynn was ready for Teacher Appendix Week. Every day the will show their teacher how much they appreciate them with a different theme each day. Analynn said it was "teacher appendix week and hugs was the gift of the day". I told her it was "teacher appreciation" and not "teacher appendix" but what do I know since I am not in school anymore. This is a picture of Analynn and Ms. Paige. Analynn loves Ms. Paige. Ms. Paige has taught has instilled in her a love of reading that we will be forever grateful for. Thanks Ms. Paige you are the best!

A bigger straw hole

Analynn has lost her four front teeth over the last several months. The first two fell out in January. The last top two fell out the beginning of April. When she lost the last one she tells me "look how big my straw hole is now." Blake and Analynn lost a tooth on the same day. He told her he got $5 dollars from the tooth fairy and she said she got $10. With the teeth I think the truth was lost too.

Celebrating Green

Today we went to Chucky Cheese to celebrate Brady getting a week of green behavior cards. He really got 2 weeks but it took us to weeks to get here with Mardi Gras and everything. The kids think we have to go to Chucky Cheese one more time to make up for the extra week. We had a great time. The two hours there went by so fast. If Brady gets a month of green we might take them to the Hilton for a night. Yeah Brady!

Hide and Seek with Santa

This picture was taken on Christmas Eve. After going to Mass the kids got to open their presents from Grandmother and Pop pop since they were spending the holidays with us. We were all getting ready to go to bed when I saw Analynn putting all of her presents she had just opened behind the sofa. I asked her what she was doing a she said she did not want Santa to see everything she had already gotten because he might think she had already received too much. She even had her new American Doll hidden with a few other things in the Little Mermaid backpack.

Which King is it?

Monday Analynn woke up saying "Happy King Day!" I said Analynn a couple of weeks ago was the Feast of three Kings. She said no momma today is the brown man's birthday. That is when I realized she was talking about Martin Luther King. She then asked if we were going to Aunt Stephanie's house since it was a holiday for dinner. I told her no and she wanted to know what we were going to eat then. I told her every Martin Luther King Day we would have Red Beans and Rice since it would always be on a Monday.
